Peacock Players Day   Leave a comment

On November 12th Matt Danielle and I went to see Lion King Jr At Peacock Players. I was excited to see this for a few reasons:I have heard the Broadway version is amazing and have yet to see it; Lion King is one of my favorite Disney movies and Shadiwkwnd was in the all Dance show at the Amato Center a few years ago and I thought the Choreography that number was amazing.

Notable Performances were by Aaron Truex ( Simba),Sam Ogden ( Young Simba), Ben Morton ( Scar),Abigail Gianetti ( Young Nala she also stole the show as Annie in Annie), Lexi Jones-Guilmette ( Nala) and Jeremy Parrot (Mufasa}. Favorite musical numbers included I Just Can’t Wait To Be King; Shadowland; He Lives In You; Can You Feel The Love Tonight And Circle Of Life.

The Lion King Jr ran at Court Street Theatre November 10-19th and was directed by Andrea Underhill, music directed by Sarah Evans and choreographed by Christina White.

Annie is one of my favorite musicals of all time. It is one of the most perfect musicals to see during the Christmas season. As noted above Abigail Gianetti stole the show as Annie. All of the other leads were fantastic as well including Alex Nick ( Daddy Warbucks), Caitlin Johnson ( Grace Farrell), Andrea Cashin (Lily St.Regis), Mark Colley ( Bundles/ President Rossevelt) and Avery Ouellette ( Miss Hannigan) Favorite Musical Numbers included You’re Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile, Tomorrow; NYC And Easy Street. I also wanted to note that the harmonies were beautiful in Cabinet Tomorrow.

Annie was directed by Keith Weirich, Musical directed by Henry Kopcynskie III and choreographed by Christina White.

Congrats to all involved in Lion King Jr and Annie on wonderful performances & to all involved in Grease; Heathers The Musical and Peter And The Starcatcher on your NHTA nominations!

Stay tuned on Wednesdayfor my 2017 Theatre And Music Wrap Up Post! Merry Christmas everyone.
