A Reflection Of 2015

2015 started off stressful as I was still on the job search. I was still substituting for the Nashua School District and also an after school program at Presentation Of Mary Academy in Hudson,NH. Both of those positions , I realized were not a good for me. Luckily, I was hired by the Plus Company, ironically the same place that helps me look for employment. I am have been working there since April 7th as a database assistant where I help in scanning documents into the computer. I also teach a poetry class after work of which the second semester will start after the holidays. The goal of this class is get submissions for the Poetry page on the website that correlates with the Janine book.

I am thrilled for the success of the Janine book. My mom and I have spoken at local schools, my college and my old elementary school in Saugus. It is up for a National award which I am excited about. I am hoping to make a second business out of going to schools to share my story of overcoming challenges. I am also excited for the future of Princess K.I.M. The Musical which got national rights and we hope it will be performed in local theatre companies.

Theatre wise the year began with the NH Theatre Awards. Last year’s PTA play Seussical
did not fare as well as I had hoped receiving eight nominations and only one win for best actress. ( Refer to my previous post  for my general comments about the NH Theatre Awards)  I worked backstage for the PTA play CATS where I tried something new as assistant sound designer. It was a great experience that I learned a lot from. This year’s nominations have not been announced yet. I am also looking forward to auditions for this year’s PTA Plys Shrek on January 3rd. Matt and I were both in Mary Poppins at the Amato Center in September which a great way for us to learn and grow together as actors. I was in the Park Ensemble and he was a banker in the Precision And Order scene. We are also in the Souhegan Valley Chorus together and are grateful for the friendships we’ve gained with people from that group including Jenn Erdody,Roger Hurd and Jonatha and Patrick McCarty.

I also would like to take a moment to mention the fact that Stagecoach Productions is closing. I was very sad to hear this news. I have helped out with their publicity and  this company bought little known shows such as Jekyll and Hyde,Little Women,Pirates Of Penzance,Children Of Eden, Kiss Me Kate and Big Fish to the NH Theatre Community. Thank you to everyone at Stagecoach a Productions especially Judy Hayward for all you’ve done!

Matt and I have been together for seven years and have been discussing getting married in the next two to three years. Naturally I would like to have a Broadway musical inspired wedding. We love living in Clocktower Place but it is our goal in the next year or two to get a condo in Nashua. Our long term goal is to move to Portsmouth or another town on the NH Seacoast or in Southern Maine. We are looking forward to vacationing in early March in Florida going to Disney and Universal Studios, Hooray for Wizarding World Of Harry Potter!

And so it’s been said many times many ways Merry Christmas to you! Here’s to a prosperous 2016 with wonderful family and great friends!
