Hello world!   1 comment

Greetings  Ladies and Gents!!

This is second move that Theatre Is My Life has made in 8 months… first it was blogger to tumblr   now it’s tumblr  to wordpresss.  Thanks to Theresa Sommers for reccommending this site to me! 🙂  Tumblr was fun for awhile but   I recently realized it  was not the most professional blogging interface and professionalism is what I strive for for this blog.

A little about  myself and this blog!

My name is Janine Leffler.  I am 27 years old and live in  Nashua NH.    I am have been involved with theatre  for 11 years and it has been  a  huge  part of my life.   I have other hobbies too but theatre has always been my biggest passion. I  first got bitten by  the theatre bug  as a sophomore  at Souhegan High School when   I did  backstage work for my school’s spring  musical HAIR. Since then  I have done tech work for 20+ shows and have acted in  five shows.   My current technical endeavor is doing  sound design for  Annie with Actorsingers in Nashua and my current acting endeavor  is playing  Mrs. Hatch and various ensemble characters in It’s A Wonderful  Life  with Riverbend Youth Company and Milford Area Players. Stay tuned for furthur info for both these shows  in regards to tucket prices and showtimes.

My other passion is writing. I went to college to study Communications at New England College in Henniker NH.  Upon graduation in 2008  I got a  job as  a freelance journalist for the Milford Cabinet where I have been employed for the past four years.   I   cover local theatre shows put on by Amherst PTA, Riverbend Youth Company, Riverbend School Of Theatre Arts, Milford Area Players, Peacock Players, Stagecoach Productions and Manchester Community Theatre Players.

I  try to go to see as many local productions as I can so   I review those shows as I go along in addition to using this blog as a way to share my  Milford Cabinet articles.

The Past and The Future

In the past this blog has  featured some commentary about shows such as American Idol, Glee, Smash and The  Voice.    Since I am trying to focus  on the more professional aspects of this blog  I will not be using this blog as a forum to discuss those shows anymore.    If you’d like to  discuss any of these shows with me  (mostly Smash  come Janaury)  I will be happy to talk about that kind of stuff seperately via email or Facebeook message.   This blog will be used mostly  to  share my  Milford Cabinet articles whenever  I get some to write and also to discuss local shows that you see.  Especially with the  NH Theatre Awards coming up in  January   I encourage discussion about shows you’ve seen through out the year and what you think will get nominated. I am also hoping to get people to give me any and all audition tips that they may have as  I prepare for   winter auditions in January and February.  I am also hoping to eventually do some video blogs so  you see more than  just my words on this blog.  Stay tuned for those once  I  figure out how to do that.

Also be sure to follow  Princess  K.I.M.  The Musical on Facebook and Twitter for updates on our production coming to the Amato Center in Fall 2013.  We are so excited about this production and appreciate your support!

Until next time
